Proactivation is a concept I learned about in The Life Coach School. It’s when you take action to make things happen ahead of time so you can reach your goals.
It is reverse procrastination.
Yes- those are my kiddos cleaning out 7 years of garage accumulation 2 months before heading to college, so we could GET IT DONE!
With proactivation, you intentionally plan the steps to reaching your goal, sooner rather than later, which positions you in a way that makes sure it happens. 👏🏾
So let’s say you have 20 podcasts to record in the next 2 months.
Set a goal to have 80% of them done in the next 4 weeks. 😳
Yes- that’s right.
It’s not a typo.
Calendar it. In detail. Five podcasts recorded every 3-4 days starting next week.
Honor your commitment to yourself by honoring your calendar.
Now, you have plenty of time to complete and refine, to make it your BEST work.
This is Proactivation.
Proactivation allows you to spend the energy that procrastination steals from you in more enjoyable and creative ways.
When you procrastinate, you usually end up creating a situation where you feel rushed and harried the closer you get to the deadline. You give up the opportunity to be present during the process as you scramble to get things done, and your creativity typically doesn’t get to shine. 😥
Many people say that they do their best work under pressure.
Really??
It may be, but, I want you to challenge that thought.
