National Physician Suicide Awareness Day 🩺💙
Today is a reminder of something we cannot ignore:
The people who spend their lives caring for others also need care.
Physicians carry an extraordinary amount of responsibility. The decisions, the expectations, the emotional weight, and the constant pressure to keep showing up can be overwhelming.
And yet, so many physicians have learned to quietly carry their struggles.
We celebrate your strength.
We admire your dedication.
We trust you with our lives.
But you do not have to be strong every moment.
You are human before you are a physician.
Asking for support is not a sign of weakness. It is an act of courage. It is an acknowledgment that your well-being matters—not only because you care for patients, but because you deserve a life where you feel supported, fulfilled, and whole.
I hope today serves as a gentle invitation to pause and ask:
✨ How am I really doing?
✨ What have I been carrying alone?
✨ Where could I allow myself to receive support?
Small conversations matter.
Checking in on a colleague matters.
Creating a culture where physicians can be honest about their struggles matters.
If you are struggling, please know you are not alone. There are resources available:

To every physician who is carrying more than anyone knows:
You matter.
Your life matters.
Your well-being matters.
Please take care of yourself with the same compassion you offer to everyone else. 💙
