For years, many of us have believed a simple equation:
More hours = More productivity.
But in my experience, that’s rarely true.
In fact, I’ve often found the opposite.
If I give myself eight hours to complete a task, it somehow expands to fill eight hours.
If I give myself ninety focused minutes, I often accomplish just as much.
Why?
Because productivity isn’t about the amount of time you spend working.
It’s about the quality of your focus while you’re working.
As high-achieving women, it’s easy to mistake being busy for being effective.
We wear our packed calendars like badges of honor while wondering why we still feel behind.
Instead, try asking yourself a different question:
✨ What result am I trying to create?
When you’re clear on the outcome, it’s much easier to decide what deserves your attention—and what doesn’t.
A few simple shifts can make a tremendous difference:
• Start your day with intention before you open your inbox.
• Define what “done” looks like before you begin.
• Give yourself a time limit instead of unlimited time.
• Remember that progress creates momentum. Perfection creates procrastination.
You don’t need to work more.
You need to work more intentionally.
Because success isn’t measured by how exhausted you are at the end of the day.
It’s measured by whether you’re creating a life that allows you to thrive both professionally and personally. 🦋 https://thoughtworkmd.com/chat/
