What if you stopped trying to completely overhaul your life and instead focused on doing something ridiculously easy?

One of the coolest things about the brain 🧠 is its ability to change.

Through neuroplasticity, your brain can create new neural pathways, which means you don’t have to stay stuck in the same patterns of thinking and behaving.

But change requires action—and sometimes we make that action so difficult that we never actually start.

That’s where a minimum baseline can help.

A minimum baseline is the smallest amount of something you’re willing to commit to. And I mean SMALL.

🏃‍♀️ Exercise for 5 minutes twice a week.

✍️ Write for 5 minutes a day.

💰 Skip one coffee run a week.

🍨 Have one day a week without dessert.

It might seem almost too easy.

That’s the point.

Your minimum baseline should be something you can realistically accomplish, even when you’re tired, busy, or unmotivated.

Because every time you follow through, you’re doing something much bigger than checking a box.

You’re building self-trust.

You’re showing yourself: I do what I say I’m going to do.

And when you consistently honor those small commitments, you build confidence and create internally driven motivation.

Then you can raise the bar.

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s progress.

And sometimes, the smallest action is the first step toward a completely different life. 💜 https://thoughtworkmd.com/chat/
