Businesses are struggling with finding staff these days. Oftentimes, the staff who are hired are different from their employers in so many ways. Their behavior, their attire, their attitude, and their work ethic may all be somewhat different from ours. You mind find yourself thinking:

“My employees are unprofessional.”
“My employees never show up on time.”
“My employees spend too much time goofing off.”

But, can you see how this is a thought that generates negative feelings? Can you see how these negative feelings impact how you interact with your employees? Can you see how these thoughts may be causing you to create similar results in your own performance?

Perhaps changing the thought to “I need to lead my employees and help set a new example” could be a better alternative. Having negative thoughts toward employees may cause you to treat them differently. It is important to recognize your thoughts and be aware of what actions they cause you to take.

Take a minute to watch your mind and analyze the thoughts you are having in the workspace. Don’t beat yourself up over them, but recognize them and decide if they are impacting your interactions in any way.
Only you have the authority to change the outcome of your thoughts and actions.
Make the change that allows you to shine as a leader.
