Happy Women in Medicine Month. 🩺✨
Today, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible women who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Women in medicine carry so much.
The responsibility of caring for patients.
The pressure to continually grow and perform.
The emotional weight of difficult conversations and life-changing decisions.
The desire to be present physicians, partners, parents, leaders, and humans.
And often, we do all of this while holding ourselves to an impossible standard.
For many women physicians, the same qualities that make us exceptional—the drive, the compassion, the commitment, the willingness to keep going—can also become the things that leave us depleted when we forget to extend that same care inward.
I believe one of the most powerful things we can do is pause and ask:
✨ Am I living in alignment with what truly matters to me?
✨ Am I allowing myself the same compassion I offer to others?
✨ Am I creating success in a way that also allows me to experience joy?
You don’t have to choose between being an excellent physician and taking care of yourself.
You don’t have to earn rest.
You don’t have to prove your worth through achievement.
The work you do matters because of who you are—not just because of what you accomplish.
To every woman in medicine: thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and the countless ways you make a difference every single day.
May we continue creating a culture where women physicians are not only able to succeed, but also able to thrive. 🦋
