Is it really that Important?

Have you found yourself complaining about being too busy, or not having enough time to do the things you enjoy? 🙇‍♀️
If so, it might be time to prioritize what is IMPORTANT over what is URGENT.
In today’s age of constant notifications, it can be easy to get caught up in what seems urgent at the expense of sacrificing time spent on what is important. 🚫
Learning how to distinguish between what is important and what is urgent is a key skill when it comes to prioritizing. Like- when the phone rings (urgent) it’s not always important.
What is important is what you value above all else (spending time with your family, being healthy, building your career), while things that feel urgent might be answering phone calls, responding to emails, or getting involved in other people’s drama. 🎭
Prioritizing is deciding what is important in your life and making time to do those things first, not letting anything “urgent” get in the way.
To prioritize effectively, really think about what you want out of life, and choose areas that you are willing to focus on above and beyond everything else.
For instance, if being healthy is one of your priorities, that doesn’t mean that you spend hours working out, but it does mean that you make time to exercise most days, even if it’s just for 20 minutes. 🏃‍♀️
It might also mean skipping going out drinking with friends, or meal prepping for the week instead of binge-watching Netflix.
Or- if you had 5 years to live, how would your priorities change and why? Why not do these things now?
When you are 100 years old, what do you think you’d most regret not doing… And what’s stopping you from just doing those things now?
After all, if you want what you’ve never had, you may have to do what you’ve never before done. 👏
