Love is an emotion that causes an action, which most of the time results in good.
But be aware that our actions that are generated from the feelings of love we have may not be received by others in a way that meets our expectations.
Have you ever done something for your teenager with complete love and excitement and then only feel rejected later when their reaction was not one you were anticipating or hoping for?
ALL. OF. THE. TIME.
Like when my kids were cringing above as I asked them to pose for this picture?!?!
We can choose to feel the disappointment sink in, or we can choose to continue to feel the love we do when we do things for others and ourselves. It’s our choice. And… that is a typical teenager response. So don’t make it about you.
Love without an agenda. Be open to the possibility that the way you show your love may not be received in the way you would expect.
It is amazing to feel love unconditionally, no matter what.
