I see so many of my colleagues pouring endlessly into patients, families, teams, and communities… often leaving themselves last on the list.
But here’s the truth: replenishing our own cups isn’t a luxury or a reward we earn after everything else is done. It’s part of the work.
When we don’t refill our reservoirs consistently, they eventually run dry — and so does our ability to lead, give, and care from a grounded place (rather than from depletion.)
This is why creating intentional space matters.
It’s deeply nourishing when we allow ourselves to pause, reconnect inward, and share that space with a supportive group of women who understand the weight we carry.
Many of you have been asking about my idea for a local mini-mindfulness retreat right here in Richmond, VA— so here it is:
Imagine one Saturday or Sunday morning each month where we step away from the constant go-go-go and create space just for us.
We’ll gather monthly, and you’re welcome to attend as often as your schedule and interest allow. Each session will be unique.
We’ll open with meditation and optional acupuncture before moving into guided discussions, group coaching, and time for reflection, community building and a closing wellness ritual.
A half-day designed to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and come back to yourself — with practices that support emotional regulation, nervous system restoration, and genuine reconnection with yourself and with others.
This is your space to settle your mind, soften your body, and strengthen your capacity to move through life with clarity and calm.
We all know how easy it is to put ourselves last.
This retreat is your reminder that you don’t have to.
Join me for a morning of grounding, renewal, and connection—because when you fill your own cup, everyone around you benefits too.
