When do you need to forgive someone?

Forgive someone when YOU are ready to feel at peace within yourself.
Holding a grudge is holding YOU back…not them.
They can’t feel the thoughts that you think about them. Your anger or resentment is not generating a punishment for them, but rather only discomfort for yourself.

Forgive by changing your thoughts.
No need to interact unless you want to.
No need for apologies unless you’re ready.

But be honest with yourself and recognize that changing the way you act towards them (like being artificially kind after an argument) is not truly forgiveness if you are still internally present with anger.

Forgive for yourself, and recognize that it is OK to have to work on this a little bit every time you see them.
