Do you know the difference between resting and being lazy?

A lot of high-achieving women don’t.

When you’re used to performing, producing, and achieving, it can feel uncomfortable to slow down. Your brain might immediately label rest as “lazy.”

But they are not the same thing.

Laziness usually looks like avoidance.

Something feels uncomfortable or overwhelming, so we procrastinate or distract ourselves instead of beginning.

Rest, on the other hand, is intentional.

It’s when you allow yourself to pause, recharge, and recover so you can return with more clarity and energy.

And here’s the truth:

If you never build rest into your life, burnout becomes inevitable.

Rest is not a reward you earn after exhaustion.

It’s a strategy that allows you to sustain the life and career you’re building.

If you’re not sure which one you’re experiencing, ask yourself this:

Does this feel restorative and nourishing?

Or does it feel like avoidance and dread?

Awareness is the first step. Once you notice the pattern, you get to decide what comes next.

If you’re a high-achieving woman who wants to create more balance, more intention, and less burnout, I’d love to support you.
