Have you ever heard of an Urge Jar?
It’s one of my favorite tools for retraining your brain — and it’s a game changer for building new habits that actually stick. 💪🏽
Here’s how it works:
✨ Find a clear jar and 100 coins, marbles, or walnuts 🤣— something you can see filling up over time.
✨ Start noticing your urges — the ones you want to change. Maybe it’s the scroll, the snack, the glass of wine, or the urge to procrastinate.
✨ When an urge hits, pause. Don’t give in, and don’t fight it either.
Just allow it to be there. Feel it. Breathe through it.
✨ Every time you allow an urge without acting on it, drop a marble into your jar.
That’s it. Simple, powerful, and surprisingly satisfying. 🦋
Why does this work?
Because your brain LOVES visual progress.
Watching that jar fill up becomes proof that you can do hard things.
And after 100 allowed urges, you’ve built a new habit — not by force, but by awareness and intention.
And if you slip up? It’s okay. ❤️
No judgment. No shame.
Just notice, learn, and start again.
This is how real change happens — one small decision, one marble at a time.
