Happy Birthday to ME!
Today is my birthday.
I am pushing (but not quite at) half a century guys!
(In case that wasn’t clear, I’m not 50 yet!! 😜)
This pic was from my 40th surprise party a few years ago.
I was happy, but I was not AWARE of how I was basing my happiness on how well other people and things met my expectations.
I was constantly giving my power away to others, relying on them to hold up to my standards to prove they loved me, show they really wanted by my friend, behave properly per my manuals, etc.
Today, I am so much better (but still not perfect 😜 ) at creating that happiness for myself, by myself.
I don’t expect people to do things for me to make me feel loved or happy on my birthday. 🎂
I decide what I want and don’t want, and then I make it happen.
I celebrate myself for what I have created, what I have accomplished, and what I dream to do still for the second half of my life.
Second half guys!
Why do we stop living once our major life milestones are hit??
We have another whole half of our lives to live!!!
So why not live it the way YOU want to, to your fullest?!?!
The bonuses you get from friends and loved ones are just that… BONUSES. 😍
Here is to creating what you want for yourself, and enjoying the ride with others who show up for you perfectly imperfect and loving them for that.
Here’s to being the luckiest girl in being able to help others learn how to give this gift to themselves. 💜
